How much does it cost for a supplier to become diverse certified?
The Supplier Diversity programme at JCPenney is free to sign up for and take part in. But getting a certification from one of the organisations that give them out costs money.
The cost ranges from $350 to $1,000 per year, depending on the organisation that gives the certification, the region, and the size of the company. Visit the website of the certifying agency for more information about prices.
How long does certification take?
Before certifying that a supplier is 51% owned and run by a woman, minority, veteran, member of the LGBT community, or person with a disability, the process may include an audit of the supplier’s financial data, location, and business practises. This can take several months.
